1. What This Website Is
Mountain View Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected with Mountain View, Santa Clara County, and California. It hosts no government records and is not affiliated with any city, county, state, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use the pages and anything reached through them only for lawful purposes. You may not use the reference to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
- Scrape, copy, or republish pages at scale without permission.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the pages.
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
This reference is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. None of it may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. Outside Links and Tools
County and state portals, courts, libraries, archives, USPS, and sponsored search providers have their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and pricing. Mountain View Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for what they publish, return, charge, or retain.
5. No Warranties
The reference is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page, source description, fee, coverage year, link, or external portal is accurate, complete, current, secure, or uninterrupted.
6. Limits on Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including an action or decision based on a record found through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arises from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original wording, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Ordinary linking and short attributed quotations are welcome. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and large-scale extraction are not permitted without written consent.
9. Changes to These Terms
The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the revision is posted constitutes acceptance to the extent the law permits.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses the reference, threatens another person, or interferes with its operation. The operators may act without advance notice.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. California public-record questions are governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, including the disclosure-determination rule in section 7922.535. Those statutes govern the public agency that holds a record; they do not make this private reference a custodian.
12. Severability
If a provision is found unenforceable, it is limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13. Questions
Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
